The Courtyard by Marriott in the Gaslamp Quarter offered a vibrant atmosphere with its stylish decor, though my room felt a bit on the smaller side. The location is perfect for accessing local nightlife and attractions, but I noticed some noise from the nearby nightclub during my stay. Overall, the service was really good, especially from the staff, but I found the valet parking fees to be quite high for my budget.

The executive king room had modern decor and a nice bay view, though it was smaller than I expected. The bathroom setup with a glass shower only could be an issue if you're sharing.
Service

The staff, especially Victoria at check-in, were enthusiastic and made my stay feel special. I appreciated the proactive engagement through texts, ensuring all my needs were met.
Location

Being located in the heart of the Gaslamp District meant that I was just steps away from bars, restaurants, and entertainment. This convenience was a highlight of my stay.
Dining

I enjoyed the breakfast option, which felt high quality and worth the extra cost. The rooftop bar, The Nolen, had a fantastic atmosphere and a great selection of drinks.

While the hotel boasted a clean and modern design, the parking situation was a bit of a hassle and the valet fee felt steep for the overall cost of my stay.

6.4/10

I had a nice stay overall at Courtyard By Marriott San Diego Gaslamp/Convention Center. The location was fantastic, being so close to Petco Park and lots of great dining options. I found my room to be clean and comfy, though a bit small for more than two people. One hiccup was that I didn't have a kettle in the room. However, the rooftop bar, The Nolen, was a highlight with its great atmosphere.

I stayed in a King Room which was clean and nice but quite small, especially with just the bed taking up most space. A kettle would have been a great addition for coffee or snacks.
Service

The staff were super attentive, and I appreciated Victoria's effort during check-in. Everything went pretty smoothly, though the rooftop bar staff could use some additional training.

You can't beat the location! Right in the Gaslamp Quarter, it's within walking distance to plenty of restaurants and attractions. I loved being so close to everything without being overwhelmed by noise.
Dining

The grab-and-go options were decent, but I kinda wished there were more choices for breakfast. The rooftop bar did have a fun atmosphere, making for a nice evening out.

While the fitness center was closed during my stay due to renovations, I did notice valet parking was super convenient for the busy downtown area and the check-in/check-out process was quick.

7.0/10

My stay at the Courtyard By Marriott San Diego Gaslamp/Convention Center was enjoyable, thanks to its fantastic location and the excellent service from the staff. However, the room was quite cramped, making it a bit challenging for two people to navigate comfortably. The rooftop venue added a fun element to my stay, but I did notice some issues with water pressure in the bathroom sink, which could use improvement.

Rooms

The rooms were very clean and modern, though they felt quite small for two guests. I appreciated the stylish decor but found navigating the space a bit awkward.

I had a pleasant stay at the Courtyard By Marriott San Diego Gaslamp/Convention Center. The cleanliness and modern design of the hotel were impressive, and the location in the Gaslamp District made it easy to explore local attractions. However, the noise from nearby nightlife was noticeable, even from my 11th-floor room, which detracted slightly from my experience.

Rooms
8.0
The room was comfortable and stylish, featuring a spacious bathroom with a walk-in shower that I really appreciated. Having a bay view was a nice touch as well. Though I found the room size a bit small for my taste, the overall cleanliness and modern amenities made up for it.
Service

The staff genuinely enhanced my stay with their warm and friendly demeanor. From check-in to serving at the rooftop bar, I felt well taken care of. The proactive engagement from staff members, especially at The Nolen, made a significant difference in my overall impression.
Location

The hotel’s location is a huge plus, right in the heart of the Gaslamp Quarter with countless dining and entertainment options just a short walk away. I felt safe roaming the area, even at night. However, I did encounter some noise from local nightclubs, which could be bothersome for light sleepers.
Dining

Dining options were beyond what I expected from a typical Courtyard. I enjoyed breakfast, which was much better than average. I also had a fantastic experience at The Nolen, the rooftop bar, where the happy hour offerings were delicious and worth the visit.
Facilities

While the fitness center was small, I appreciated that it was open 24 hours. Valet parking was convenient, albeit costly. The lobby had a positive atmosphere, and I enjoyed the thoughtful complimentary items provided at check-in.

I had a fantastic stay at the Courtyard by Marriott in the Gaslamp Quarter. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making me feel at home throughout my visit. The only downside was that the gym was closed for renovations, which was disappointing, but the overall comfort and proximity to attractions made up for it.

Rooms

Breakfast was a highlight for me, especially the delicious banana bread French toast and the breakfast sandwich on a brioche bun. The rooftop bar, The Nolen, also offered great food and drinks with stunning views.
Facilities

The rooftop lounge was beautiful, especially at night, and while valet parking was a bit pricey, I found it convenient given the crowded downtown area.
